Ashoka Finley is an experienced software developer with deep experience across a range of languages and frameworks. He has used his technical skills primarily to support the implementation of open data systems for development projects.
Before becoming an engineer at ConsenSys, Ashoka built a platform called Urbinsight that was used in projects from Cairo to Medellin. It was a way to collect bottom up data for use in planning and urban development interventions. This experience led him to contribute to the open source mapping ecosystem, building tools to help developers share mapping data more easily.
He has participated in and facilitated numerous hackathons, including Summer of Smart, and civic focused hackathons in partnership with Code for America.Currently he is supporting ConsenSys across numerous projects, namely uPort, an identity application, and Blockchain for Social Good.
